Exam post-mortem, this week, Ex.6, lab hours 11/30/2009
Exam: The exam solution will be posted here soon, and the exam itself will be graded and returned within a week. If you think that you did badly in the exam, I suggest to withhold negative feelings until you see your graded exam. Our exam grading policy is quite liberal. We don't expect students to produce perfect code under pressure. Instead, we seek signs of understanding. Therefore, even if you gave a partial answer, or your code is somewhere around the correct solution, you will gain points. Exercise 6: Start working on it. Today. That's the most important thing to do this week. See more posts about Exercise 6 in the forum. Lab: There will be tutors support today (December 1) in the lab (thx to Ilit!), so I suggest to come over and start working on the exercise. Before you do so, you must read carefully the exercise description, so that you'll be able to ask focused questions. Lecture notes for Thursday (Dec. 3) will be posted here on Wednesday night, so stay tuned. -- Shimon Add Comment Week #7, several notes 11/29/2009
Exercise 6 is now posted. Be sure not to look at it until you're done with your midterm!! I recommend a good night sleep before the midterm. You learn while you're asleep more than when you're not. After the midterm, take a break. Don't go straight to exercise 6. Breath for an hour, then you're ready to begin. Apparently no one from the staff will be on Tuesday's lab, which is ok, because you're not supposed to have questions by then. The lab will still be open, if you wish to come and work on the computers. I won't be answering emails before Wednesday. For urgent matters contact Felix (or Prof. Schocken). Good luck, guys! You're the best! Boaz. Exercise #5 Submission Postponement 11/24/2009
As you may have noticed, exercise #6 is yet to be posted. This should give you some breath during your midterm period. However, in order to make Thursday's lab useful, we have decided to postpone the submission deadline of exercise #5 to Friday morning, 9:30. Do note: if you decide to wait until the last minute, make sure your hard copy is submitted on time in Hadar Avodot, and that you're able to attend the recitation on time! If you can't, make sure that someone else hands in your papers. Friday's recitation is very important. Cya at the lab on Thursday, Boaz. Office Hours 11/22/2009
Due to an increasing demand for personal help, I'll be doing my "office hour" this week on Tuesday, 17:00-18:00 (after the lab). I'll be at the lab, but if it gets taken, we'll move to a random available class. Boaz. Lecture notes for the week of November 22 11/21/2009
